Phobias and Hypnotherapy

What is a phobia?

It can be described as an irrational fear of something.

That does not make the fear any less real!

Phobias can be a fear of any number of things, people, events or situations. These include:

  • Fear of spiders
  • Fear of certain animals or plants
  • Fear of flying
  • Fear of dentists and doctors
  • Fear of blood
  • Fear of heights
  • Fear of open spaces
  • Fear of closed spaces
  • Fear of thunder
  • Fear of failure

This is just a small selection of the range of phobias that exist. Suffering from one or more of these can cause anxiety attacks and generally disrupt a person’s life to a lesser or greater degree – sometimes even making day to day activities seem almost impossible.

Hypnotherapy can help you deal with the distress, anxiety, panic and obsessions that can occur as a result of these phobias.

Hypnotherapy can help:

  • Uncover the underlying causes or triggers that lay in the subconscious
  • Understand the ‘reason’ behind your phobia
  • Desensitise you to the ‘triggers’
  • Reprogramme the response to these triggers through hypnotic suggestion

The number of sessions needed will vary depending on the individual and their particular case.
