Hopi Ear Candles
What are Hopi Ear Candles?
Hopi Ear Candles (or Thermal Auricular Therapy) is a non-invasive treatment of the ears which is used to treat a variety of conditions. It is a pleasant therapy to receive and can be very relaxing as well as therapeutic.
Originally this therapy came from the Hopi Indians (Hopi meaning ‘peaceful ones’) who used the ear candles for cleansing, purifying and healing on a spiritual level. Historically they were used by Shaman healers.
The candles are made from the natural ingredients of beeswax, honey extracts, sage, St Johns Wort, chamomile, and organically grown flax.
The candles are placed just inside the ear and they work on a chimney principle, drawing any impurities to the surface where they can be gently removed. They equalise the pressure in the head and ears, making them suitable for most conditions. Hopi Ear Candles carry on working up to 24-48 hours after the session.
The treatment is finished with a relaxing face massage, which stimulates the lymphatic system in the face, neck and ear area, paying particular attention to the sinuses.
